I guess Wii're Cool Now

Mom splurged the other day and got a Wii. She has been talking about it for quite some time now so Dad expected it. It is kind of fun. Granola was also spoiled with some new toys. We went for a hike up by the fish hatchery the other day and a swim afterwards. It was the first time Granola just did not want to be in the pool. We got some laps in and called it a day. Grandma Dixie is headed up for a couple days this weekend, now dad can get some needed chores done.

We looked for some black baby outfits while we were out and are convinced that they do not exist( at least in the stores we shop).
We've been trying to get out as much as possible before the snow arrives again.

Who's Reading??

So we keep hearing of all the different people who check up on Granola's blog, where are all the comments? We were hoping to have a post( this one maybe) where most readers will drop a comment and let Granola know who is keeping tabs. We will eventually make a book of all the posts for Granola and we know she would appreciate seeing all the comments everyone leaves. Thanks everybody and keep checking in.

Crib Time

For some reason this week Granola felt as if she were a newborn again. She was waking every couple of hours in the night letting us know she was hungry, so we decided it was time for some self soothing. Her 1st full night in the crib and she slept for a solid 9 hours. We are pretty lucky parents.
Granola went for a swim again yesterday and did well, she lasted almost 45 minutes. We are hoping to get out again today, maybe another hike? Granola had a very adult like giggle yesterday when she was reading Cat in the Hat, it was super adorable and she kept laughing the entire book.

She has been getting way more active in her play center recently, I think she relized she can stand up in it now.

After swim Happy time.

We're less than a month away from our big day. Everything seems to be coming together quite well, We're all getting really excited to see our NY family and have them meet Granola for the 1st time.

Mom's Big Day Off

We were determined to get a hike in today and go swimming; surprisingly everything worked out smooth and successful. We had a short 2 mile hike, but it was all uphill to Windsor Lakes on Hagerman Pass. A great workout for the day. Granola did wonderful, she napped a small portion but otherwise sat up very attentive. We headed into town afterwards and then went to the pool. Granola got a bunch of laps in and even a quick dunking.

Back Home & New Snow

Well, it snowed in the mountains already. There was some new snow even along HWY 24 on the drive home. It was a brisk 44 degrees when we got home at noon on Sunday. Granola was excited to be home despite the cold temps.

Back in GJ

We made it to GJ with 2 goals in mind. We arrived and got moms brakes fixed so we could go camping. We were only a mile or 2 from our destination when the drivers side brakes locked up. We were in the middle of nowhere with zero cell service, and a hungry baby. I examined the brakes, had some input from a man who luckily came by with some tools, and with some luck we got the brakes to unlock. So, we decided to head back to GJ in fears of being stranded with Granola. Dad had a feeling something would happen since this was our 1st opportunity to go camping. Our second goal was to go on a hike to the second largest concentration of Arches in the world, which is located in moms backyard. The 13 mile dirt road in was a bit long but we did make it. Granola had a great time, mom was able to see something amazing she never even knew about and dad was happy that we finally got to do something we planned.
Granola laid down for a nap at 5:45 and slept until 9:00 the next morning. She decided to cover her face when mom & dad went to bed to keep sleeping. I think its the GJ heat that takes it out of her.

Granola even slept a good portion of the hike.

Granola finally met her Aunt and Uncle this week, here with uncle Dick.

Ready to tear it up.
More sleepy time.

Granola had her first full rollover here at Grandma & Grandpa's the other day. She went from back to stomach, lifted her head looked around and continued over to her back again. Granola has somehow acquired a dread lock on the back of her head. Mom had enough and gave her a haircut, her 1st also. She only chopped the dread though. Mom has her bridal shower today and we're heading back home tomorrow, so dad can go to work.

Hippy Sighting

This all started last summer when the nickname Granola came about. There was a vendor at Boom Days with tie dyed baby clothes. Mom said if he returned this year she would get something and she did.

Showing off her tummy.

5 Months

5 months, its amazing how quickly it goes by. Granola might have had her first roll over from back to front yesterday, it was aided by dads weight on the bed though. We're getting ready for yet another trip to GJ this weekend for mom's bridal shower. How fun!?! Dad is trying to figure out a way to fit a night of camping in there somewhere. The opportunities we had earlier in the summer were way too cold for Granola up here, so we're hoping to find something lower and a bit warmer at night. We've been back in the 30's at night here. A White Wedding for September perhaps?
Early AM smiley time, she is definitely a morning person.

Weather

The weather did not cooperate with us this week to be able to go camping. We had the time, it was rainy and in the low 60's, so we decided to wait on some sunshine. Maybe this coming week.

We had to change her out of these Pj's, she thinks its a blanket and constantly trys to kick them off.
